About Me

~ A Little About Myself ~

Greetings everyone, and welcome to my journey. Where to start? Well, I guess there’s no better place than the beginning. I’m a native Seattlite (born and raised in Seattle, Washington), but little did I know, my journey of spiritual enlightenment would begin once I made the move to Chicago, IL in 2003 where I encountered The Earth Center.
After meeting Master Naba, I entered into my initiation in the M’TAM School of Philosophy and Spirituality. This was in 2004 and I have continued my initiation as a student of life and mother of many in Burkina Faso, West Africa where I live, birthed and continue to raise my children.  I have two children of my own, but have helped raise and care for many over the years.
Through The Earth Center, and my teacher Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, I was introduced to traditional Africa (Meritah). This has given me the opportunity and privilege to spend much time in West Africa over many years. My inspiration for this blog was initially to create a platform from which I could share my writings that have been published over the years in the Rising Firefly Magazine.
 
But, it has ultimately become a way for me to share the years of experience I have gained in motherhood from spending time among the family here. I have been humbled by the knowledge and experience I have gained from the traditional perspective and practices of the grandmothers here. They have taught and helped me to refine the techniques of just about everything surrounding motherhood including pregnancy, childbirth, healing baths and the overall perspective of bringing a life into the world.

Experiencing The Culture First Hand

Me and my two sons in Het Aishat, a traditional healing temple located in Kovoum, Togo (in the remote bush).  This is a traditional healing center established by The Earth Center and is dedicated to providing health services and traditional medicine for mental, physical, or ailments.  I have been working, visiting and receiving services here for years.  This is where I come to cleanse myself and provide any  offerings that my Ancestors may need to assist me in my life.
